SCOPE AND INTENSION
• Proposals should be for solo or group exhibitions and present a coherent theme. The exhibit should be based on a unifying concept – social, historical, philosophical, cultural, political or other.
CRITERIA
• Quality of work
• Clarity and coherence of concept
• Ability of artist/curator to complete the project
GALLERY SPACE
• The ArtSpace-Maynard Art Center houses 80 studio artists, the Acme Theater and the ArtSpace Gallery. The ArtSpace Gallery is one of the largest and best nonprofit exhibition spaces in Massachusetts. The gallery has 1800 sq. ft. with 150 ft. of linear wall space and 16 ft. of built-in glass display cases. You are encouraged to view the space prior to submitting your proposal.
DUTIES OF ARTISTS/CURATOR
• Order and mail post cards to your mailing lists.
• Provide 800 post cards to ArtSpace for its own distribution.
• Hang and remove exhibit.
• Arrange an opening reception.
• Liaison to ArtSpace.
• Some gallery sitting may be required.
ARTSPACE SUPPORT
• Listing in Art New England, Artscope, local and regional media. Press releases. Mailing and postage for ArtSpace’s mailing list. Expenditures over and above this are the responsibility of the exhibiting artists.
• The gallery receives a thirty percent (30%) commission on the sale of artwork, but does not guarantee sales.

TO APPLY, PLEASE SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING:
1. Statement of concept and how each artist’s work relates to the concept. No more than 3 pages, total. 10 copies
2. Slides or digital images from each artist (6-10) labeled with name of artist, title, medium & dimensions. Slides or digital images should be of work available for exhibit.
3. A list of slides or digital images that includes name of artist, title, medium, dimensions, and date, numbered to correspond to slides or images on CDs.
4. Resumes of artists included in the proposal.
5. The name, address, phone number and email of contact person.
6. SASE for return of slides or CDs
