ArtSpace-Maynard is a nonprofit community art center located at 63 Summer Street in the former 55,000 square foot Fowler Middle School in Maynard MA.

In January 2001 ArtSpace Inc. leased the building from the Maynard School Department and transformed it into one of the largest and most vital art centers in New England.

 

The facility contains:  
Artists' Studios There are 43 artists' studios in the facility. The average size of studios is 750 square feet. The studios currently house 70 artists. Studio rents are $7.20 per square foot per year, including heat and electricity. All studios are currently occupied, but if you'd like to be added to our waiting list, contact us.
   
ArtSpace Gallery ArtSpace operates this large, newly-renovated exhibition space in the former school library at ArtSpace-Maynard. The ArtSpace Gallery is one of the premier, mid-sized, nonprofit exhibition spaces in New England, presenting new and important contemporary art.
   
PrintWorks Printmaking Studio ArtSpace also operates the PrintWorks, a clean, new and nontoxic printmaking area with a 270x480 motorized press. The printmaking studio is open to all artists at very affordable rates.
   
Acme Theater Acme Theater Productions operates this wonderful, 70 seat theater and presents high quality productions to the public at affordable prices.
   

Special Programs/ Community Education

 ArtSpace-Maynard presents its annual open studios event on the first weekend in October in conjunction with the town wide celebration-MaynardFest and a holiday sale in December. It coordinates educational endeavors with local schools and organizations, presents public discussion groups and lectures about art and art-related matters, hosts tours for schools, organizations and the community at large.

ArtSpace Inc. ArtSpace-Maynard is administered by ArtSpace Inc., a nonprofit, 501(C)3 arts organization which has developed and/or assisted artists to develop affordable studio and live-work studio space.

ArtSpace Inc. currently manages the ArtSpace-Maynard center and a smaller artists studio complex in Framingham MA.
